When do I need to start doing my taxes?

I'm seventeen and sans job... what is the law concerning the starting of one's tax proceedings [in Canada]?

You file your tax return when you owe taxes. Even if you dont owe taxes, it is a good idea to file as you may be entitled to certain tax credits or refunds.



Generally, you prepare your return before May after you receive your T4 employment slips, after January and before March, from your employers in the prior tax year.
